Depicted are views of Paris showing the Jardin du Luxembourg with the sculpture 'Le Lion de Nubie et sa proie' and the statue of Marie de Médicis, as well as views of Parc Montsouris. The sheets were created one year after Anker's arrival in Paris, where he studied under Charles Gleyre and attended the École Impériale et Spéciale des Beaux-Arts.
