Four woodcuts, circa 1506-07, all very good impressions though printing slightly unevenly as is characteristic of these prints, B. 140, a Meder IIa impression, on paper with an E in a Circle watermark (M. 295); with B. 142, a Meder IIa-b impression; with B. 143, a Meder IIa impression, on paper with a Crowned Double-Headed Eagle watermark (M.227); and B. 145, a Meder I (lifetime) impression, each framed

each sheet: approx. 270 by 210mm 10⅝ by 8¼in

Condition Report:
B. 140: Trimmed to the borderline, in good condition, a few nicks and skilfully repaired short tears at sheet edges, the lower left corner re-attached, a small repair at upper left sheet edge touched-in with pen and ink, the gap in the lower borderline touched-in, some pale discoloration and surface soiling, framed.

B. 142: Trimmed to or just within the borderline, the centre of the lower unprinted area made up, the borderline and a few further repairs at sheet edges touched-in with pen and ink in places, foxing and minor paper discoloration throughout, some spots of bloom, framed.

B. 143: Trimmed to the borderline, in good condition apart from a few touches of pen and ink in the borderline, a few disturbed areas towards upper sheet edge possibly associated with hinging, a couple of small pale brown stains and a vertical printer's crease with associated thinning toward the lower sheet edge, a couple of minute made up losses at upper left, a few thinned spots, framed.

B. 145: Trimmed to or just within the borderline, in good condition, touches of pen and ink in the lower borderline, a few small pale brown stains verso (one showing lightly recto at lower left sheet edge), (A printer's crease at upper left, extending into the image), framed.
