Good pair of wardate Allied maps of France, includes a map titled 'Ste. Marie Du Mont', Second Edition, 24.25 x 19 in., published by the 'Geographical Section, General Staff' in April 1944, designated 'Sheet No. 34/18 N.W.' at top-right corner, scale 1:25,000. 'Sainte-Marie-du-Mont' is located in northwest Normandy, thus this map shows the region surrounding Utah Beach less than two months before the D-Day invasion. The top-left corner has been docketed '#3 Utah Beach' in blue ink, though the map bears little other markings and is likely not battle-used. Very good. Sold with a map titled 'Chemnitz', First Edition, 19.25 x 19.5 in., published by the War Office in 1944, designated 'Sheet 5143' at the top-right corner, scale 1:25,000. The map shows the infrastructure and landscape of the German city of Chemnitz and its surroundings. Folds, one hole with dampstain surrounding it. Still very good condition.
