AMERICAN BUFFALO POTTERY DELDARE RALPH STUART CERAMIC PLATE AND SUGAR BOWL, LOT OF TWO, comprising a plate and an open-handled sugar each with a polychrome oriental pheasant design. Plate signed "R.[alph] Stuart." on lower right side. Hand-brushed marks include "Buffalo Pottery / DELDARE / 1922" and "Buffalo-Pottery / 1923." Buffalo Pottery Company, Buffalo, New York. Circa 1922 - 1923.
Condition: Plate with moderate crazing, otherwise undamaged, and sugar with minute flake to foot ring. Both with some manufacturing flaws, as made.
Size: Plate 9 3/8" D and sugar 3 1/2" HOA.
Provenance: From the estate of Holton Rosenquist, Bradford, IL.Catalogue Note: Ralph Stuart was head of the Buffalo Pottery art department from 1903 to 1942.
