NEW YORKER/EXCEL MODEL, SERIAL NUMBER 1916, NEW YORK, CIRCA 1953

The 'D'Angelico / New York / Excel' logo and model inlaid in mother-of-pearl to the headstock along with insets to the fingerboard. The maker's logo also engraved to the tailpiece and to the interior with the number '1916'. Fitted with a tortoiseshell style pick guard, a DeArmond pickup, volume and tone dials, and rhythm switch. With original hard shell case.

PROVENANCE:

Originally made for Tom Di Bianco on 14th April 1953, and described as a New Yorker model in the D'Angelico register.

Condition:

Condition: Crazing to varnish overall. Minor dents and loses, consistent with age and use. requires servicing- corrosion visible to frets. pick guard replaced.
