AN ANTIQUE MAP, "Planisphærium Terrestre sive Terrarum Orbis Planisphæricè Constructi Repræsentatio Quintuplex," AMSTERDAM, CIRCA 1700, parcel gilt hand colored copper plate engraving on paper, published by Carel Allard (1648-1709), Dutch cartographer, a fragment from Atlas Minor, with two large central world maps topped by two unfurling fringed curtain title banners, one in Latin and the other in Dutch, surrounded by eight views respectively from the North and South poles, including four sub views including a grid of latitudinal and longitudinal lines, and variations of the Earth's axial tilt, hand inscribed in margin.
