AN ENGLISH AND FRENCH PORCELAIN COMPOSITE PART DINNER SERVICE, CIRCA 1810

probably painted in an independent decorating workshop with flowers including pansies, poppies and cornflowers issuing from terraces of earth above gilt lines, comprising:
Five octagonal vegetable tureens and covers;
Four shaped rectangular vegetable tureens and covers;
A square salad bowl;
Five sauce tureens, six covers and five stands;
Two soup tureens and covers, and two circular stands;
Twenty oval dishes, in various sizes;
Five circular vegetable tureens and covers;
Two oval tureens and covers with compartmented liner;
Seventeen soup plates;
Seventy-one plates; and
One circular cheese stand

Condition Report:
Generally in good order with typical wear and some damages, many of which can be repaired or restored. Some general rubbing to the gilding, surface scratches and stacking wear to the plates.

In detail:
Five octagonal vegetable tureens and covers, generally in good order but some glaze sanding to the interior of two examples, minor rubbing and slight staining.

Four shaped rectangular tureens and covers, generally in good order with slight wear to gilding of rims.

Square salad bowl, slight wear but generally in good order.

Five sauce tureens, six covers and five stands; two stands in good order and bearing impressed M. Masons marks, two unmarked stands with minor rim chipping and one with a faint star crack, three covers generally in good order, three with damages and losses to the finials and signs of old repairs, these require restoration; two tureens generally in good order, one tureen with a rivetted handle, two tureens each with a handle broken off and requiring repair/restoration.

Two soup tureens, covers and stands, one handle to a tureen has been broken off, the piece is intact and should be repaired, the lower part of the damaged handle was drilled so would have had an old rivet repair in the past, the other tureen, both covers and both stands are in generally good order.

Twenty oval serving dishes, two dishes are 22 1/4 in wide, generally good order with some wear to rims and scratches, impressed numeral `8`; two dishes are 20 1/4 in wide, generally in good order, impressed numeral `7`; two dishes 18 in wide, in good order, impressed numeral `6`; one dish 16 1/4 in wide, impressed numeral `5`; two dishes 15 1/4 in wide, one has a noticable crack from one side of the well to the other to one end, impressed numeral `4`; four dishes 12 1/4 in wide, generally in good order, impressed numeral `2` to one dish; seven dishes 10 1/2 in wide, no impressed numeral, one dish has a small footrim chip and another dish has been extensively broken and pinned.

Five circular vegetable tureens and covers, one finial has been broken off and is now missing, another cover has a small triangular section broken from the rim, thei small section is missing, the remainder in generally good order.

Two oval tureens and covers with divided liners, one liner is extensively damaged and repaired to the border with a small section missing to the rim, the divider wall is broke and repaired.

Seventeen soup plates, nine generally in good order; three with minor chipping to rim, one with a star crack and a crack from the rim, two examples broken in two and repaired, two examples broken in multiple sections, repaired and pinned.

Seventy-one plates, all with quite visible stacking wear and rubbing to rims, thirty-one generally sounds, eight generally in good order but with minor short cracks from the rim or footrim, nine plates have rim chips with associated hairline cracks, three have noticable star cracks and rim chips, two have footrim chips but are otherwise of good appearence, five have fairly minor single rim chips, nine have large rim chips (1 cm. or more wide) or multiple rim chips, four plates have more noticable cracks, repiars or a section missing.
