AN ENGLISH SALTGLAZE STONEWARE BEAR BAITING JUG AND COVER OF NOTTINGHAMSHIRE TYPE, MID 18TH CENTURY Typically modelled restraining a small dog in its paws, extruded clay fur and remnants of a chain to the nose 23.5cm high A similar Nottingham attributed jug can be seen in the Nottingham City Council Museums & Galleries, NCM 1972 - 36. Condition Report: The chain is largely missing as can be seen. The cover has been dropped, broken into at least a dozen pieces and glued back together.
