AN EXTREMELY FINE PART SILK ISFAHAN RUG, CENTRAL PERSIA approx: 7ft.6in. x 4ft.10in.(228cm. x 147cm.) The soft ivory field with polychrome palmettes, scrolling floral and leafy vine around concentric floral and arabesque medallion. Stylised palmettes and arabesque spandrels. In similar design border between floral, arabesque and plain stripes. this rug has full pile with superb kurk wool quality, soft and lustrous. Both ends with original kilim and fringes. One end with touches of fraying to the fringe. Selvages original. Extremely fine weave, approx: 10 x 9 knots per sq. cm; woven on silk foundation. Very good colour combination. In general this rug is in very good condition. Very attractive and lovely example for this type.
