Both sides with nielloed Kufic script, the shoulders engraved and inlaid with lions
The inscriptions:
‘almulk walqudrat allah alhawl walquat allah alzafr bialnasr’
(with the sovereignty and competence of Allah, the power and strength, the victory is ours)
Around the bezel:
‘fath min allah wanasr qarib liman yasbir’
(Victory from God is close to those who are patient)
