of elongated form, with a bulbous inkwell of rectangular section with champfered corners, decorated with cursive script, only partly deciferable, in oblong cartouches filled with arabesques, stamped with tughra, probably of Osman III (r.1754-57) on the underside of the ink well

Traces of gilt remaining on the surface, some oxidisation and rubbing to the surface consistent with its age. some dirt and minor scratches, as viewed.
