ANTIQUE FRENCH PICHON TERRE MELEE POTTERY TERRINE
Coveted terre melee clay only found in a tiny region in Provence. When cooked, the poterie produced these colors without applied glaze. The Pichon family are masters at using this clay for poteries since the 17th C. This is a small terrine used for show, perhaps holding bonbons or nougat. Minor wear that is to be expected. Original lid! Provenance: Uzes, Languedoc, France; 1900's. Dimensions: (Including lid) H 4.5" x W 7" x D 6" Condition: Minor crazing to glaze, small chip to rim of bowl; otherwise showing few signs of wear.
