Rare Native American adorned rifle. Decorated with Native American symbols in brass tacks and animal hide barrel and stock covers, accented with glass seed beads, horse hairs, and turkey feathers. Markings not found; likely obscured by hide covers. Appears to be breech-loading, approx. caliber .699. Dimensions: H 4.5" x L 47" x W 2.25" Condition: Wear consistent with age and use; scuffs, age toning/darkening to leather; missing a few strands of beads, a few loose; stress cracks to wood, patina and oxidation to metal. May be missing elements.
Condition: All the items in this auction remain at our gallery location in Norwalk, CT for pickup. Preview is by appointment, Monday-Friday, 9:30-4:30.
