ASTRA MODEL 400 & DWM 1914 MILITARY LUGER

SEMI-AUTO PISTOLS. 1) ASTRA MODEL 400. Cal. 9mm Largo & 38 ACP. S# 94895. Bbl. 6" marked at port "9m/m 38" (ACP, NOT Super; too powerful). Also marked on slide as Model 1921 (1921-1945). Matching numbered bbl., slide & frame. S# range of German WWII use was 92,851-98,850 which includes this pistol. Standard proofs w/ addition of "M" (1941) at top left rear of frame. Fully checkered walnut grips. MAGS: 2-8 rd. total; 1 Astra marked w/ noticeable finish loss & 1 unmarked w/ refinish over some moderate pitting plus having slightly reduced dimensions. CONDITION: good plus overall appearance w/ light marks & gray toned thinning in grip area. Occasional sm. spot of peppery oxidation. Left grip very good; right has some marks. Near excellent bore. (20-860/NW). 2) DWM MODEL 1914 MILITARY LUGER. Cal. 30 Luger. S# 5934b. Bbl. 3 7/8" unmarked replacement w/ fin shaped front sight. Receiver dated 1916. Frame & its parts all matching numbered except hold open latch #48. Receiver numbered 9478 as is entire toggle assembly; grips & bbl. not numbered. Standard proofs on receiver for 1914 Military model. Frame marked "GERMANY" above takedown lever indicating likely refurbished w/ non military bbl. assembled for export sales. MAGS: 1 light brown toned 8 rd. tin plated w/ wood base marked 7346m & crown proofed. CONDITION: fair to good as refinished over light to moderate pitting. Original somewhat faded strawed parts w/ light pitting. Good mechanical functioning. Almost good grips w/ notable amount of hand wear. Fair to good bore w/ sharp rifling plus light wear & faint frosting. (20-861/NW). BOTH CURIO. $1,200-1,700.
