INFANT HERCULES STRANGLING TWO SERPENTS
bronze, on an ebonised wood base
bronze: 21.5cm., 8½in
base: 8cm., 3⅛in.
Condition Report:
Overall the condition of the bronze is good, with some wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. There are a few minor stable hairline casting fissures, including at the proper right side of the head. A few small original lacunae. There is a dark lacquer to the bronze, which has partially flaked in most areas. There is particular dust in the crevices.
The modern wood base is in very good condition with minor general wear.
