watercolour on vellum, set inside the lid of a gold-mounted tortoiseshell snuff box, rectangular, a lock of hair wrapped in a paper note inscribed: Bonnie Prince Charlie's hair, the box's maker's marks indistinct, the discharge marks of Louis Robin (1738-1744) and Julien Berthe, Paris (1750-1756), contained in a red leather case, inscribed in gold lettering: ROB. FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER / M. CATHERINE BERKELEY / 28. April 1919.
miniature: 55 by 75mm., box: 40 by 85 by 64mm.

Both the miniature and box in good condition.
