Adlerwerke. H. Kleyer AG - Adler Model nº7 - typewriter, 1910s and original ink ribbon - Iron (cast/wrought)

[ translate ]

Beautiful and more than 100 year old Adler typewriter. The weight alone indicates how well-made these machines are. All parts move, so it works, but the ink ribbon is obviously dried out. It comes with a 'new' ink ribbon, albeit a bit thinner, in the plastic and original Bakelite box. Probably also dried out despite the plastic, but a nice extra item. Optically, the machine is also in good condition. Despite some blurring, the gold brand designation and manufacturer is still easy to read. Everything is shown in the pictures and these pictures are therefore part of the description. Dimensions: approx. 37 (width) x 37 (length) x 16 cm (height) and weight approx. 10 kg. The American Wellington Parker Kidder sold his design patents to Heinrich Kleyer in 1896, commencing production of the machine under the name Adler. Model 7 appeared as the first operational typewriter in 1900, which was followed by model 8 in 1902. Kleyer AG used to sell bicycles in Frankfurt a/M. This explains why the logo on Adler typewriters shows a seemingly unrelated bicycle wheel. .
