Adolph Klugman (19214-2011) Wood Sculpture Dedication Statue "Refugees" 1977. "Adolph Klugman was born on March 17, 1924 in Kansas City, Mo., and became a member of The Greatest Generation. As an Army Engineer, he paved the way for peace in the Pacific during World War II. Following the War, he married Rose Altman, with whom he had two children and 64 years of unrelenting happiness." (Ask Art) . This unique piece is made from solid Honduran mahogany. It is both signed and dated 1977 by artist on back of piece. The piece has a dedication brass plaque on the front titled "Refugees" Presented by Mrs. Philip L. Altman in memory of Dr. Harold Altman. Serial # 05371 property of tag on back of base. The piece is very heavy but in good condition. The sculpture along measures H 45" x W 23" and the base measures H 20" x W 35" x D 20" and weighs 108 lbs. The base has wear and age along the bottom of the piece. Please refer to all photos. Overall in good condition.
