Alpine - A108 -1 Cabriolet FASA "NO RESERVE" - 1967

[ translate ]

This ALPINE A108 is a FASA version built under license in Spain. It is a rare and sought-after A-108-1 final version and has chassis number 125. Only 41 of them were built from 1966 to 1967, they differed from the normal A108 for the Bresel (Weber) 28/36 dual-body carburettor, the 12 V electrical system, the wooden steering wheel and other improved details. It was repainted only once in the 1980s and exported in 1986 from the city of Cuenca, in Spain. Since then it has remained indoor, in a private collection, until now. It is auctioned without reserve for the first time in 35 years. The resin body and the chassis are in excellent condition, the car has been inspected inside the front and rear compartments and no signs of accidents have been found (see photo) . The engine is original, as reported on the registration certificate. The front bonnet still has the number ‘125’, as the chassis number, see the photos. The rare rims with wide band are an Alpine extra of the time, with the central mark. It is extremely rare to find an A-108-1 in these condition to be mechanically restored. The chrome shows signs of ageing. The original jack is in the engine compartment. The car starts with the key, the brakes are not locked and a video of the car and the engine is available, please contact Catawiki. However, a general inspection is required before using it on the road. The compression test gave very good results about the engine (see the photos) . Bidders are welcome to view and test the vehicle. It is located in Quarrata 51039, PT, Italy. Please contact Catawiki for an appointment. We will take care of the transfer of ownership remotely or of the export documents; low-cost shipping throughout Italy, Europe and the rest of the world.
