American Folk Art Waterolor and Theorem Type Valentine. Signed, lower right, J. H. Homer. under shaped mat, in oval giltwood beaded frame. The teorem is American; the drawing either American or British. Circa 1840 - 1860. {Approximate dimensions: 9 1/2 inches square the watercolor; the valentine 8 x 10 3/4 inches. Condition: Minor dirt and discoloration to the watercolor, left side, center. crease to valentine, and light foxing. The mat must be made with acidic paper, as there is typical discoloration around the edges of its shaped surround. Chips to frame.
