American GI Soldier 1940s Art Noir Style Oil Painting

Original 1940s American Art Noir Style Painting.

Surreal picture shows a GI, an American soldier in WWII era uniform standing under medieval-like vault listening to a women in a white dress playing piano. There are black ruins of a cityscape visible through the window behind the the woman. The entire composition resembles the American post-WWII Art Noir style.

Oil on stretched canvas, framed, unsigned, late 1940s.

The painting is 16" x 20" [c.40.6cm x 51cm]; frame 19.1/2" x 23.1/4" [49.5cm x 59cm]; the stretchers are stamped "ANCO INC" such stamp was in use between 1934 and 1953. In 1953, the logo was changed to "ANCO BILT" a little aging, very good condition.

Certificate of Authenticity is included.
