An 18K yellow gold jewellery set; consisting of a brooch with matching earrings, with agate cameos, ca. 1860 -1880

Oval brooch set with a finely cut agate, with a representation of Hebe, goddess of youth. Frame set with blister pearls. Hanging eye and brooch can be folded, pin can be unscrewed. Earrings each set with a finely cut agate with a representation of a musical putto (mirrored). Frame set with blister pearls. Pendant can be detached from the swan neck. Set in a case by Benten & Zonen in Amsterdam, bottom with hidden compartment in which the brooch can be stored. Hallmarked with Dutch assay mark for 18 carat, in use from 1814 - 1905 (so-called kies). Gross weight: 34.9 grams.
