An Archive Relating to the Research & Development of 'ALSEP'

The Apollo Lunar Surface Experiment Package (ALSEP) An engineer's archive including the internal familiarisation manual for the programme, a selection of NASA photographs documenting the Active Seismic Experiment (one of the ALSEP experiments designed to examine sub-surface layers of the moon surface) and mixed schematics, together with prototype and Qual. tested artefacts from the development programme including; 2 stainless steel grenade/rocket motors, a qual. tested 30 MHz transmitter, 2 multi-directional impact switches (all internal to the grenades), and a Cordwood packaged electronic control unit. Additionally a solar cell assembly with an integrated temperature sensor and a glass cover to reduce proton impact damage, part of the Dust Detector experiment.
