An Edwardian silver pedestal sugar basket, the oval fluted form with twin reeded loop handles, hallmarked Birmingham 1902, maker's mark worn, height including handles 5.25" (13.25cm). Together with a small Edwardian silver tazza dish, the plain shallow bowl with loop handles to a knopped stem and spread base, hallmarked Holland, Aldwinckle & Slater, London 1908, height including handles 3.5" (9cm). Total weight 8.29 ozt (257.8 grams). (2).
Condition Report:
- Both displaying general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with their age and use.
- Sugar basket with solder repairs to one handle, at the upper join to the rim. Consequently the loop of this handle bends inwards more and appears slightly shorter.
- Further possible repair around short stem.
- No glass liner with sugar basket.
- Hallmarks rubbed but legible. Maker's mark heavily worn and illegible.
- Tazza dish with some heavier scratched marks and minor surface nicks to shallow bowl.
- Darker stains/tarnishing marks to underside of foot.
- Hallmarks a little rubbed but still clearly legible.
