An Egyptian faience ushabti, Late Period
An Egyptian faience ushabti, Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC, depicted mummiform on integral base, wearing tripartite wig with false beard, arms folded at chest and holding a hoe in each hand. A vertical plinth is at back and a panel with a hieroglyphic inscription with name and shabti spell down front of body and legs. H: 4 1/4 in (10.8 cm). Some light weathering, glaze now a pale green-brown. Ex collection of Glen Leesman, CT.
