An Importatnt and very rare empire viennese globe table
Austrian, Vienna, circa 1815, important and very rare globe-form work table (Globustisch), globe shape on shaped legs, veneered, ebonised, with gilt griffin´s heads and many gilt ornaments, the upper part of the table is partially foldable, the interior of the table with a brass door with and drawing of Vienna's St. Stephen's Cathedral, two side doors with brass candlesticks, marquetry, drawers veneered with different types of wood, partially inlaid with brass wire, a removable top with drawers for sewing implements, an integrated secrets compartments, series of secret drawers and moving compartments, the table is in original condition, signs of age and usage, with minor damage, overall dimensions 99 × 42 × 42 cm.

Provenance: important private collection Salzburg, then in a private collection in the Czech Republic

Exhibited: REDISCOVERED MASTERPIECES from private collections, from 21 November to 30 November 2019, exhibition space Galerie Zlata husa, Dlouha 12, Prague 1, the exhibition was organized by the company Starozitnosti-Galerie USTAR in cooperation with company Art collections URBAN, the painting is reproduced in catalog on page 171.
