An Indo-Persian manuscripit. Around 1725

Part of the “Shahnama” (The Book of Kings, History of Rustam) by Firdausi. 34 pages with four columns of 15 lines each in gold frames. With one double-page and five full-page illuminated miniatures in color and gold, copied in Nastaliq script by Muhammed 'Azani for Nawale Nisar Mohnd Khan Shere Juzeq Bahadur. Brown leather binding with gilt-stamped cover borders. Spine and edges carefully restored.
Outside measurement 28 x 17.8 cm

The book was presented to W. G. Archer in 1958, who suggested that it was written around 1760. S. C. Welch, on the other hand, dated the work to around 1725 in 1980 and commented that it was written in Lucknow.
