The chest is refinished but the hardware appears to be original as it is held in place with primitive pins. The top has some worm holes and areas of wood loss, with some filled-in and overpainted areas at the front to repair damage. Repaired age cracks in both sides. Filled-in older worm damage with overpainting in the bar between the lower two drawers on the front. Sturdy and very attractive overall.
