An Italian bourgonet, circa 1600

Bell struck in one piece with a small point inclined to the back, rusted through in some places and repaired in the 19th century. Circumferential lining rivets with (partly incomplete) brass rosettes. Pointed peak and neck guard with flanged, corded edges. Hinged cheek pieces with flanged and corded outer edges, the right cheek piece is new. In addition, a two-part turned wooden stand. Height of the helmet 30 cm, with stand 52 cm.
