the alabaster veneered top with a gilt-bronze moulded edge, above a guilloche frieze with central panel with carved head backed by shell, possibly depicting Venus, on acanthus topped, fluted and tapered legs

Condition Report:
With losses to gilding throughout. The guilloche friezes: - left side, cracked and with one loss to end; - frontal, one loss to right end; - right side, small loss, cracked. Signs of old worm that appears to be no longer active; Cracks to supporting interior blocks of two legs The alabaster top in good condition with marks and scratches consistent with age and use and small repairs to edges.
