depicting the 'Madonna del Dito' or 'Our Lady Of The Thumb' possibly after a painting by a follower of the Florentine painter, Carlo Dolci (1616-1686)
the oval panel: 28.1 x 21.4cm.; 11in. x 8⅜in.
framed: 50.5 x 44cm.; 1ft. 7⅞in. x 1ft. 5¼in.
Condition Report:
In overall good condition. The panel has been examined out of its frame and images are available upon request to the Furniture department. Minor retouching to the micromosaic panel, on the left handside and towards the top however these are not distracting at all. The frame with minor old marks, rubbing to gilding and scratches consistent with age and use. One loss to the interior of the frame towards the top left, and some construction lines visible all consistent with age and use. Good quality.
