An Italian rosso and verde antico tazza,
19th century

the two-handled gadrooned bowl with a lion mask on either side, resting on a spreading and fluted foot, raised on a verde antico base and a further black marble base
28cm. high, 28cm. wide; 11in.

Condition Report:
In overall good restored condition. This is in two section: the bowl, and the foot and base. Generally with minor old marks, scuffing and scratches consistent with age and use. The tip of the handles joining at the rim of the bowl with signs of minor repairs to previous cracks and chipping. One handle with signs of three further breaks which have now been well repaired. The bowl can rotate around the central rod, this would benefit from permanent fixing, and if desired by the prospective buyer. The spreading socle with a repaired break which is barely noticeable. The nose of one lion with very minor scuffing.

The base with one corner chipped toward the top. The area just beneath it with a small loss as well. Otherwise with minor old marks, scuffs and scratches consistent with age and use. Some residual glue of former labels to the base which can easily be cleaned with water.
