An attractive Greek ceramic alabastron
An attractive Greek ceramic alabastron, c. 6th - 5th Century BC, the body long and ovoid with rounded bottom, the neck short and narrow with wide flattened rim. H: 7 1/2 in (10.2 cm). Moderate surface encrustation and deposits. A pleasing example of a popular cosmetic vessel. Ex UK private collection acquired from Herakles Numismatics and Antiquities, Munich in early 2000's; previously belonging to a German private collection formed in the 1970's.
