An early Victorian silver hexafoil game serving dish and cover by John Samuel Hunt, London 1839, with a finial modelled as a pheasant on a tree stump and a hare lying on a grassy base, the cover ogee and panelled, W beneath a crown twice, the plate with a gadrooned rim with shells and scrolls, 33cm (12in) diameter, 2352g (75.65 oz)

Condition Report:
Marks to dish are partially obscured, marks to cover are well struck. There are identical full hallmarks for maker, date letter, duty and town on both the dish and cover. The removable hare and pheasant finial has matching maker's, duty and standard mark, but no town mark or date letter. Decoration is good. Light scratches and wear commensurate with age and use.
