An emerald and diamond cluster ring
An emerald and diamond cluster ring, the rectangular step-cut emerald with canted corners, claw set within a border of graduated round brilliant-cut diamonds, yellow precious metal mounted, signed CEI for Colombian Emeralds International, total diamond weight approximately 0.40ct, ring size Q½
The emerald has a fairly vibrant green hue but contains multiple fracture, fissure and mineral inclusions and is untested for treatments/origin. Some of the fractures are surface-reaching and there is a large surface-reaching fracture to one end of the stone. The emerald has surface wear, scuffs and small nicks/chips and measures approx. 6mm length x 5.7mm width (depth unknown due to setting). Diamonds are well matched, fairly bright and lively, some stones with small nicks/chips and surface-reaching fractures. Estimated H to J colour and SI1 to P2 clarity, assessed mounted. The ring mount is relatively modern with surface wear throughout. Gross weight approx. 6.2gm.
