An important father and son medal group, both gentlemen serving in the Essex Regiment, the father (George Standing) was in the 44th Essex Regiment and was awarded the Crimea 1855 Medal, Turkey (Ottoman Empire) Crimea Medal, Victorian Crimea Medal with three bars for Sebastopol, Inkermann & Alma, the China War Medal with bar for Taku Forts 1860, the remaining medals awarded to his son also called George Standing, including South Africa Medal with four bars; South Africa 1902, South Africa 1901, Transvaal & Orange Free State named 4529 Pte G. Standing Essex Regt, a 1914 Star with bar dated 5th Aug 22nd Nov 1914 named to the same as Lance Corporal, Victory Medal named as Acting Colour Sergeant Standing, British War Medal named as Acting Colour Sergeant Standing, Military Medal, Serbian Order of Oblich and Long Service and Meritorious Service Medals, also included is the Essex Regiment cap badge, a remembrance plaque for Daniel McKinnon, photographs and an extensive collection of ephemera and notes on both gentlemen and also the Essex 44th Foot Regiment.Provenance: The medals are now framed and glazed and mounted with replaced ribbons, however, the original ribbons have been retained.Condition Report There is no condition report for this lot.
