An unusual George II mahogany and brass mounted longcase clock and barometer by Richard Peckover
The pagoda shaped hood with brass flame finials above silk backed fretwork above an arched door flanked by cast columns, the 12inch brass dial with eagle and urn spandrels and silvered chapter ring with Roman & Arabic numerals, signed 'Richard Peckover, LONDON' with matted centre and subsidiary seconds and date aperture, with strike/silent, blued steel hands, the eight day movement with five pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on a bell, the arched moulded front door with a glazed barometer, with fielded panel to the plinth on ogee bracket feet, 54.5cm wide, 28cm deep, 266cm high.
