Male hemba ancestor statue of Eastern Congo. The torso is prominent in relation to the legs. These statues are kept in the Fumu Mwalo and exited to honor the founder of the clan. The posture is hieratic, the character wears a beard typical of the Hemba style. The arms are hinged upside down. The statue seems hermaphrodic by the size of the chest. Hardwood with black patina. Traces of xylophages on the head and torso.
