Ancient Greek Glass Spherical miniature bottle in the shape of an amphoriskos - 4.8×4×4 cm - (1)
Brilliantly spherical original Greek miniature bottle in the form of an amphoriskos, using the sand core technique. Made of dark blue opaque glass with a yellow thread over the lip. A yellow and white thread starts at shoulder and runs in a spiral around the belly. In the middle twice a nice zigzag pattern around the belly. Underneath, a yellow and white thread runs around a number of times. Various (usual) damage marks: missing droplet foot; white grainy impurities on the body; some dullness and some very small pits and small pieces of brown crust. Weight: 25 g. Exclusive and rare piece! Origin information: Bought by the current owner on 8 September 2020 at a Dutch art and antique auction. Auction house name and lot number can be provided to buyer on request. Previous origin: from a Dutch private collection, collected since: second half of last century, exact date unknown. The seller has demonstrated that the lot was obtained legally. The proof of origin was seen by Catawiki. Important information: The seller guarantees that he has the right to sell / export this lot.
