Ancient Greek, Hellenistic Glass Exquisite Blue and Yellow Core-Formed Glass Amphoriskos- a Luxury Parfume Bottle

Ancient Greek, Hellenistic Blue and Yellow Core-Formed Glass Amphoriskos Translucent cobalt blue with two pseudo-handles with more decorative role because of their very rudimental style in the same color. Trails in opaque yellow Wavy - Zig Zag motif resembling the sea waves in the middle part turning into a several yellow trails wound horizontally around body. The same thick yellow trail ''wrapped'' elegantly around the thin cylindrical ''neck'' of this fascinating luxury parfume bottle. A circular base-knob with flat bottom (gives the oportunity to be put on the surface) and Inward-sloping Rim Disk with upward rounded lip. Some unsignificant scratches and minor corrosion on the surface, otherwise very well preserved for such a difficult material as the glass is. An excellent example of ancient glass art- still carrying the aristoctratic spirit of the epoch with the most exquisite style in the history of art. Material: Glass. Date: 4th.
-3rd. Century BC. Size: 10,5cm. Item No. 52 Purchased by the current owner in 2014 in Austria, Wien from Collector fair. Collected Since: 1960's.
