Ancient Greek Terracotta Attic shamrock oinochoe type II - 26×13×0 cm - (1)

Ancient Greece, Attic. A fantastic, black glazed trefoil oinochoe type II. Pear-shaped body on a flat, two-tier circular foot Flat shoulder, cylindrical neck, trimmed at the shoulder with a circle. An elongated handle runs from the shoulder over the lip and ends in a curvature at the lip in a cloverleaf shape. Two marks on the body, flawed fired ceramic (one red, one grey) , give the vessel a special charm. Carved letters on the base, which can probably be traced back to the pottery workshop. The vessel is glazed black apart from the foot. Condition: two chips on the foot, one on the lip Chipped paint stains along the handle and lip. One delicate crack on the neck. Otherwise intact. Provenance: 1995 from the German art trade, before that, a German private collection from the 60s. Proof of origin with Catawiki.
