Ancient Holy Land Incised Silver Cloak Pins (pr)

Ancient Near East, Holy Land, Syria or The Levant, ca. end of 2nd millennium to early 1st millennium BCE. Two cloak pins comprised of 95% silver presenting conical caps and tapered bodies with six skillfully-incised registers of vertical and zigzag striations. A horizontal aperture is featured at the mid-section of both in order to secure them together. Quality of silver: 97%; Size of largest: 0.625" in diameter x 4.125" H (1.6 cm x 10.5 cm); Weight: 55.2 grams

Provenance: private Davis collection, Houston, Texas, USA; ex-Gerhard Hirsch Nachfolger, Auction 277-280 - Ancient Objects, Coins, and Medals (February 8-11, 2012, lot 1071); ex-private German collection

Condition Report: One is slightly bent to one side and has an indentation to the periphery of its cap. Tip of other is slightly bent. Expected surface wear to both. Otherwise, very nice with lovely patina.
