Ancient Roman Bronze Phalic Amulet featuring a Lunar Pendant. This amulet incorporates two different symbols the phalic symbol was very popular in the roman empire as a symbol of fertility and eroticism but also apotropaic symbol against the evil energy (eyes, spells) . Pliny the Elder reveals a curious detail that the phalic amulets were worn by soldiers but even a babies! The lunar pendant was classical symbold from the prehistoric times and in the roman times symbol of the Goddess Luna. Extremely rare especially in this grade of preservation! Material: Bronze.
