Ancient Roman Bronze Figurine of the Supreme God in their Religious Pantheon Zeus- the Thunderer in a Curious Style!

[ translate ]

Ancient Roman Bronze Figurine of the Supreme God in their Religious Pantheon Zeus, Standing holding a Thunder in his right hand (only a small piece of the thunderbolt left) and probably an eagle in his left hand (only the base left) . Interesting schematic and style but not static as his naked body, laft and hans are in a movement. The style of his face is also not classical and the ancient master had almost misrepresented him like a Hercules (Heracles) because both of them was bearded. Only a few details are missing, as mentioned above, part of the thunderbolt, eventually the traditional eagle he holds, and part (the fingers) of his right foot, otherwise in very good grade of preservation with extremely rare and lovely light green natural patina. Material: Bronze Date: 1st. 3rd. Century AD. Size: 7,5cm. Item No. I75 Purchased by the current owner in 2011 in Austria, Wien from Collector fair. Collected Since: 1970's. Previous owners history: Old Austrian Private Collection. The Seller can prove that the lot was obtained legally , provenance statement seen by Catawiki. Important information. The seller guarantees that he is entitled to ship this lot. The seller will take care that any necessary permits will be arranged. The seller will inform the buyer about this if this takes more than a few days.
