Ancient Roman Ceramic fragment from a tile sealed with a stamp of the VII th Legion- Claudia Pia Fidelis- "the legion that is loyal and faithful to Claudius". founded from Gaius Julius Caesar 58 th. B. C. Insription: VII CL This Legion fought in the Dacian wars led by the emperor Trajan. The Roman legionnaire Tiberius Claudius Maximus, who brought the head of the Dacian king Decebalus to the emperor Trajan, was serving in Legio VII Claudia. Only a fragment from a bigger tile and the letters from the first part of the inscription- LEG are broken, but the second and more important part which indicates which legion stamped this tile CL VII th is well preserved and still readable!
