Roman oil lamp in ceramic with orange red glaze. Pear-shaped tank, round spout, raised handle and pierced with a hole. The disc is concave, bounded by three hollow circles. It is adorned with a large-tailed bird, surmounted by a palm. Particularity: a metal part protrudes from the drilling of the disc that it obstructs, this rod is fixed in the earthy deposit contained in the lamp Under the base, a potter's brand, "L. MADIEC", for Lucius Munatius Adiectus Perfectly preserved condition Size: length 10. 6 cm - Width 6. 4 cm Lamp in perfect condition, no restoration Dating from: 2nd century AD (120/180 AD) Provenance: France, Galerie H.
