Concave-bottomed cosmetic jar. Blue iridescent blown glass with an intense flared rim. A long cylindrical neck tightening at its base: low flattened and tapered body: concave bottom. Beautiful iridescent shine with remnants of concretion. Container meant for oils and perfumes, used in funeral rites. It accompanied the lacrymatory containing the tears shed for the deceased. Purchased by the present owner in 2019 in France from: HF Previous provenance history, from a collection established in 1900. Previous owners history: French private collection, built up in the 1970s. The seller can prove that the lot was obtained legally, declaration of provenance seen by Catawiki.
