Ancient Roman Iron Spearhead
Ca. 300-500 AD. Roman. An iron spearhead with an elongated leaf-shaped blade, raised midrib, sharp tapering edges, and a long flared socket. Good condition; custom-made stand included. Weapons of this type were used in the Late Roman period by both Roman soldiers and their adversaries. Spears were probably used alongside a shield by heavy infantry fighting in close formation.
