Beautiful and rare oil lamp with double spouts in terracotta. Roman period circa 50 to 100 AD This same century saw the diffusion of a less common model equipped with two spouts to accommodate two wicks. When it worked, the double flame had to shine intensely in the dark, especially since the wide triangular handle at the back recalls that on polished bronze lamps, this part served as a reflector to diffuse an even brighter light. Dimensions: Length: 15. 5 cm - Width: 8. 3 cm Preservation: Beautiful with small restorations at the end of both spouts. Origin: Old Dutch collection created between 1961 and 1980 by Jan de Wit and his wife Elena van Gils Guaranteed authentic and from the period No export permit is required for the shipment of goods between the EU member countries.
