Ancient South Arabian Alabaster Bust of a Man

Ancient Near East, Southern Arabia, modern-day Yemen, ca. late 2nd to early 1st century BCE. A lovely hand-carved alabaster bust of an abstract anthropomorphic male with almond-shaped eyes and drilled pupils, a slender mouth, and a ridged nose. The lower half of his body is orb-shaped with an incised line delineating his chest from his lower "body." A wonderful example from the ancient Near East! Museum-quality display stand included. Size: 2" H (5.1 cm); 2.55" H (6.5 cm) on included custom stand.
